Clackamas Community College (CCC) seeks to hire Counselor Instructor [part-time} faculty position. PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Instructor will be responsible for instructing, assessing students, and performing other tasks related to instruction as assigned. The role of the Instructor in the institution is both responsive and active. As the needs of the students, faculty, administration, and the public vary, so does the orientation of the activities of instruction in the counseling department vary in response to these needs. The services provided by the department may be categorized as: direct services to individuals and groups, instructional services, program development and support, and liaison with individuals and groups on and off campus.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Instructional Role:
Teach college level human development and First Year Experience in Spanish and English.Attend periodic trainings, curriculum planning meetings and assessment strategy sessions.

Qualifications






MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Master's degree in Human Development, Adult Education, College Services Administration OR Master's degree in a related field.
  • Teaching experience at a college level.
  • Evidence of ability to present, collaborate and work with diverse audiences, specifically racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse communities.
  • Bilingual/biliterate in Spanish/English.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Evidence of a teaching practice that is grounded in current theories and human development.
  • Evidence of commitment to teaching as a profession and to ongoing professional development.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, creativity, and energy in the classroom. Experience working in a community college environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility. Duties involve moving materials weighing up to 5 pounds on a regular basis such as files, books, office equipment, etc., and may infrequently require moving materials/objects weighing 25 to 60 pounds. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboard, calculator, and standard office equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work environment includes online, remote, classroom and labs, or other setting as appropriate.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision of other personnel is not a typical function assigned to this position. May provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel, and may assign work to student workers

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under the general directions of the Department Chair.

  • Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends.
