Who we are

The Department of Veterinary Physiology and Pharmacology is the only department of its kind in Texas and has a rich tradition of excellence in education, research and outreach with an emphasis on veterinary and human medicine. The department houses the Michael E. DeBakey Institute for Cardiovascular Science and Biomedical Devices, the Reproductive Sciences Center, the Interdisciplinary Toxicology Program and the Center for Cell and Organ Biotechnology.

 

What we want

The Postdoctoral Research Associate conducts mathematical modeling of exposure, toxicokinetcs, and toxicodynamics in support of multiple externally funded projects. Utilizes advanced computational toxicology approaches in address key issues in in-vitro to in-vivo extrapolation and mixtures risk assessment.

 

What you need to know

Salary: Com p ensation will be commensurate to the selected hire’s ex p erience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Appropriate doctoral degree

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Mathematical and/or statistical modeling using computational methods

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in field related to computational toxicology and risk assessment

 

Responsibilities:

  • Computational modeling - Performs computational modeling and “in silico” experiments that require evaluation, selection, and application of standard and novel methods of research.

  • Records - Maintains detailed records and commutes results of studies to the principal investigator, laboratory colleagues, collaborators, and the scientific community.

  • Writing - Writes manuscripts, research reports, and engages in other forms of communication.

  • Supervise - Supervises graduate research assistants. Performs other duties as assigned.
