Typical Duties

Working collaboratively with the Associate Deans, other Program Manager?s and staff within the division, and other campus and community stakeholders, the Program Manager is responsible for:


  • Regularly assessing needs, interests and opportunities for non-credit corporate education, career & workforce training, and community education programs for their respective service region;
  • Developing monthly, quarterly and annual program plans, including specific program, participant and revenue outcomes, following the LERN Program Management model, to strategically grow and expand a diverse portfolio of non-credit offerings intended to meet the assessed needs, interests and opportunities within the service region;
  • Proactively engaging in campus & community outreach and partnership development activities to cultivate, develop and strategically grow co-sponsored non-credit program offerings and related participant/enrollment & revenue outcomes;
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, supervising & evaluating part-time and/or full-time facilitators/instructional staff/faculty and support staff for non-credit program curriculum development, instruction, student support, outcomes assessment, evaluation & continuous improvement;
  • Managing and coordinating program operations & logistics, in close collaboration with appropriate college offices, staff and community stakeholders, related to non-credit program planning, scheduling, facilities, IT, HR, purchasing, business services, marketing & promotion, enrollment/registration & student support services, etc. to ensure effective & efficient planning, delivery, follow-up, outcomes assessment, evaluation and continuous improvement of the programs offered in their portfolio for their assigned service region.
  • Tracking program enrollments and making appropriate Go/No Go decisions prior to program start dates following LERN Program Management model metrics for enrollment & revenue targets to ensure programs offered within the assigned service region are self-supporting and revenue generating;
  • Serving as the primary point of contact & liaison for inquiries, troubleshooting, problem solving, and support for current & prospective students, facilitators/faculty, and campus and community partners and stakeholders in their assigned service region;
  • Creating monthly, quarterly, annual and as needed reports on program, participant/enrollment, and budget/revenue outcomes for all non-credit programs offered within their assigned service region.
  • Maintains supplies and equipment located in classrooms. Schedules repairs and annual maintenance for classroom equipment. Submits facility requests for repairs in classroom.
  • Manages employee timecard review and approval for facilitators & support staff related to non-credit programs offered within the designated service region.
  • Acts as intermediary for student grievances and/or faculty/student disputes
  • Ensures regular and effective scheduling and implementation of Advisory Board meetings to inform non-credit program needs assessments, growth & expansion, enrollment & partnership development, and program evaluation and continuous improvement within the assigned service region.
  • Maintains and coordinates the Institutional Effectiveness Network program evaluation & assessment schedule and implementation with instructional facilitators, other Program Managers, Associate Deans and the Dean.
  • Supports the Instructional Deans, Associate Deans & Program Directors in all college Instructional Divisions in the development of each division?s non-credit Academic
