Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
3 years experience providing administrative support.
Applicants may be required to complete the institution’s required skills assessment to be considered. Some positions require specific skills such as word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database, email or calendaring software, and Internet proficiency.
- General knowledge of and skill in the practical application of generally accepted office practices and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effective both orally and in writing.
- Ability to proofread and edit written documents.
- Skill in various computer software packages, such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation programs, Internet, email and calendaring software.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions.
Preferences:
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year of administrative experience demonstrating the ability to carry out organizational and administrative assignments.
- Experience in a higher education setting.
- Strong writing and editing abilities.
- Experience in content management.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and handle administrative and clerical duties.
- Collect, compile, and organize data and information for program reporting and communications.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clientele and colleagues.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and work for optimum efficiency.
- Assist with budget development and financial reporting.
- Assist with memorandums of understanding and grant applications.
- Manage the ANMP website content.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.
- Ability to work with diverse clientele and colleagues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Gmail Suite.
Additional Certifications:
- Personal transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- If offered employment, the individual will be required to obtain (and satisfactorily pass) a background check by the State of Maryland and the FBI before beginning job assignment.
Additional Information:
- Provide administrative support to the ANMP Program Director, Faculty Specialists, and Agriculture and Food Systems (AgFS) Assistant Director and Program Leader. (35%)
- Support the daily activities and operations of the ANMP. (25%)
- Gather information and develop ANMP publications and reports. (25%)
- Maintain the ANMP website and social media. (15%)
