Essential Job Duties
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at North Carolina State University (NC State) invites applications for a Lecturer position. Primary teaching responsibilities will be at the undergraduate level for the department’s anthropology programs. Several hires will be made from this posting. Most will be part time and in person teaching.
Other Responsibilities
The Lecturer is responsible for coordinating, planning, preparing, delivering, and evaluating classroom instruction and related activities. Each Lecturer is expected to develop and maintain syllabi for their assigned classes.
Lecturers are required to perform duties during the day, evening, or weekend as assigned, and fulfill any additional responsibilities as directed by the Department Head.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Applicant must have a master’s degree in sociology/anthropology or related field.
Other Required Qualifications
- Applicant must demonstrate evidence of teaching excellence.
- Strong commitment to excellence in teaching.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience at the university level.
- Discipline in Anthropology.
- PhD preferred.
