Job Description

Help us Grow the Good in Business as our next Academic Operations Coordinator at the Mendoza College of Business! In this role you will work in close collaboration with the Assistant Director of Academic Operations and the larger Student Experience Team to provide academic operational support to faculty and academic departments.

What, exactly, is “academic operational support?”
You will work with other members of the Academic Operations team, as well as program directors, department chairs, and faculty to finalize program and course schedules, academic calendars, final exam schedules, and other academic operations cycles. You’ll also work with the Office of the Registrar and other academic oversight offices on campus to facilitate and maintain accurate academic records, enrollment, and registration for all graduate business programs.

  • Course and Program Schedules: Schedule and publish final exam schedules, navigate classroom reservations for academic meetings for all programs, identifying academic and technological classroom needs, attending program meetings, and registration settings.
  • Registration and Academic Records: This position will interface with the University’s Office of the Registrar, Veteran Affairs, Financial Aid, and Mendoza Student Services to ensure academic compliance for programs and courses and to facilitate and maintain accurate registrations and roster records. This position will work within academic systems such as CourseLeaf, Banner, Course Instructor Feedback, eForms, EMS, project management applications, Google suite, and a variety of other InsideND applications. Coordinators will collaborate with other staff teams regarding registration and academic documentation.
  • Academic Timelines and Deadlines: The Academic Operations coordinator will work in collaboration with the Academic Operations team and Assistant Director to identify and communicate current and future academic timelines, deadlines, and calendars for assigned programs, reinforcing academic compliance and support in line with partner offices throughout campus, and communicating these timelines throughout the college, including grades, registration, and CIFs.
  • Academic Logistics and Unique Student Experiences: Collaborate with the other members of the Student Experience Team to facilitate any academic operations interfacing required to support immersions, residencies, Mods Away, and other unique Academic experiences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 to 2 years experience
  • Ability to understand FERPA and implications for practices and procedures, and commitment to comply.
  • Office Support and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage demanding schedules and constrained timelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or up to 3 years of college or technical school
  • 2-3 years of work experience in an office setting, administrative, or professional setting.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Experience working in higher education or customer service roles.
  • Experience with Banner, Canvas and/or other University registration, scheduling and academic support tools is a plus.
