Job responsibilities include preparing and teaching face-to-face business classes at the El Dorado Correctional Facility. Multiple classes are available. An Entrepreneurship class is available on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. A Management class is also available on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. A Personal Finance class is available on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. The instructor would collaborate with the Department Chair as needed to ensure continued success. This is a part-time faculty position and continued adjunct teaching is a possibility beyond the Fall term. Butler uses online elements for their face-to-face classes as well, such as grade books and other elements of communication. Free training is offered and required. NOTE: These positions also require a mandatory 40-hour Correctional Facility specific training to be completed. Sessions are Monday-Friday from 7:30 – 4:00 at the El Dorado Correctional Facility Training Center.Each day of the week has particular sessions assigned to each day. For example, if an instructor misses a Tuesday afternoon of training, they would need to make it up on a Tuesday afternoon of another orientation week. Training dates available this summer areJuly 15th – 19th and August 5th – 9th. Training participants will receive a stipend from Butler Community College for completing the training.
