Summary of Position

Under the supervision of the Housing Facilities and Operations Manager, this position is a program coordinator for the array of operational student staff within Housing. The program coordinator has several responsibilities that includes the Housing maintenance request system of approximately 1.2 million square feet of residential buildings. The program coordinator maintains the organization of key systems and assists the Housing electronic card access team. They manage the signage program for all of the residential buildings across campus. They support and develop the repair crew for fall, spring, and summer semesters. They support the Housing pest and mold management systems. The program coordinator reviews and updates the standard operating procedures for Housing.

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of facilities management related experience.
  • Position requires strong oral and written communication skills, computer skills and a valid driver’s license.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Position prefers candidates with strong oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish languages.
  • Experience working in housing facilities at an institution of higher education and one year of past supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of building trades, grounds, and housekeeping fields as well as basic building life safety and fire codes.
  • Knowledge of construction materials means and methods.
  • Financial analysis skills related to facilities management, purchasing and procurement experience.

Duty/Responsibility

Maintenance Request System
  • Oversee and monitor maintenance requests coming into StarRez from students and staff.
  • Determine appropriate action with maintenance requests.
  • Initiate work orders for Facilities Division staff to complete or refer reports within Housing, as needed.
  • Follow-up with Facilities Division and residential staff to review, update, and close out work orders.
  • Use data and reporting tools to identify repeat problem areas and help determine if a larger issue is evolving.
  • Inspect work to ensure it meets UNH Housing standards.
  • Meet regularly with Housing, Facilities, and Residential Life staff to review the progress and quality of work in assigned facilities.
  • Develop and present recommendations for future facility related projects and preventative maintenance to supervisors.

Duty/Responsibility

Key Oversight and Management
  • Manage the key and combination assignments for all resident halls and apartments.
  • Ensure that all key cores and combination locks work properly and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Responsible for working with the Facilities Division on key records and combination changes.
  • Maintain and update the database of key and combination numbers for student and staff.
  • Manage the annual distribution of keys to hall directors and apartment managers for distribution at opening.
  • Oversee the management of the master key boxes in the Housing office.

Duty/Responsibility

Pest and Mold Systems
  • Support Housing’s pest and mold management systems.
  • Act as point person for students who have pests, mold, or other unwelcomed conditions noted in their maintenance requests or through phone calls / emails.
  • Coordinate efforts with the Environmental Health and Safety Office, Facilities, and associated vendors to correct the issue and communicate to staff and students.
  • Manage the department’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation and keep it updated through industry changes and collaboration with supervisors.
  • Identify trends and attend workshops to ensure Housing and UNH are following best practices.

Duty/Responsibility

Repair Crew Support
  • Responsible for supervising, guiding, developing, and supporting the work repair crew for fall and spring semesters.
  • Collaboratively lead the Facilities and Operations student and adjunct work crews with supervisors.
  • The crews consist of approximately 12-20 student staff who perform simple repairs, paint, move furniture, complete building assessments and inspections.
  • Coordinate academic year work to ensure compliance with entry into student occupied spaces.
  • Help develop and manage a summer program to prepare assigned buildings for fall occupancy.
  • Monitor progress and quality of work and record work completed for accuracy and to inform future planning.
  • Track supply usage and tool wear and tear.
  • Order supplies through departmental partners through the year and for the summer turnover program.

Duty/Responsibility

Housing Signage Program
  • Oversee the replacement of missing/damaged signs in Housing buildings following University guidelines and Housing signage standards.
  • Identify signs needing replacement on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate the order and install with the vendor including review of submittals, proofs, and install quality assurance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
