Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Public Safety at Rose Hill, the Base Supervisor receives, analyzes, prioritizes and processes requests for service. In addition, this position oversees the front desk and responds to emergency calls.

 

Essential Functions        

  • Receives, analyzes, prioritizes and processes requests for service.
  • Operates and monitors the department’s base radio, notifying the duty supervisor of all important messages or assignments
  • Delegates all requests for service from the University Community to the duty supervisor or patrol leader.
  • Monitors the department’s campus emergency telephone system; immediately dispatches Public Safety assets to any call for service.
  • Dispatches appropriate Public Safety assets immediately to address any suspicious or unusual activity observed or reported
  • Notifies outside emergency responders (i.e. Police/Fire/Ambulance) as required to address reported event.
  • Monitors the department’s closed circuit security system.
  • Maintains the department’s command log in chronological order and records all assignments and their disposition in a neat and legible manner.
  • Performs administrative tasks as assigned by the duty supervisor or patrol leader.

Additional Functions      

  • Issues overnight parking passes as required and deposit fees collected in department safe
  • Operates University vehicles in compliance with federal, state and local regulations and insurance requirements

 

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience        

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in law enforcement with a police agency or in a University police or security department
  • Valid New York State driver’s license

 

Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills     

  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree

 

Minimum Starting Salary: $62,400

 

Maximum Starting Salary: $66,609

 

Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
