Job Summary:
As a transformative action within the CTS business unit, the Director of Project controls will develop, implement and manage a project controls group as an imperative to the long-term success of the organization. The director will lead a global team of project control specialists to manage projects from inception to completion with a focus on cost control, forecasting, project metrics and performance, risks, and mitigation strategies. Additionally, the role requires working across functional teams and stakeholders for continuous improvement, resource management and training. This position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops the strategy to transform and implement project control processes, procedures, and systems to ensure effective project management and execution for all of CTS.
  • Leads and manages a team of project control specialists, providing guidance, support, and mentorship as needed.
  • Fosters and ensures collaboration with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to establish project baselines, schedules, and budgets.
  • Develops and implements process for monitoring project performance against baselines and identify deviations or variances.
  • Reviews and analyzes project data and metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develops and implements mitigation strategies to address project risks and ensure project objectives are met.
  • Prepares regular project status reports and presentations for senior business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Conducts regular project reviews and audits to assess project controls effectiveness and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Provides training and support to project teams on project control processes, tools, and techniques.
  • Stays current with industry best practices and emerging trends in project controls and project management.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in project controls, project management, or related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Experience in leading a project control team including resource management and employee training.
  • Experience in developing or enhancing a project controls organization or function preferred.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, processes, and methodologies including earned value management (CPI, SPI, etc.).
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in financial management tools, such as ERP systems, Excel, dashboards, or equivalent.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make sound decisions.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • This position is based in an office environment with occasional travel to project sites as needed.
  • Certifications in project controls or related work preferred.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally

Cubic Pay Range:

$155k - $245* + benefits.

*Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
