Title - Lighting Technician
Location - San Diego, CA
Duration - 2 Years (on call/as needed role)


Summary:
Client is looking for a creative and talented lighting technician to join our contingent workforce team. As a lighting technician, you will work across all types of video content and may cover productions inside studios or outside on location. You will help to create the right atmosphere to set a scene and evoke an audience's response. The work demands high-level technical and creative skills to follow instructions that ensure the desired production lighting is achieved.
Job Duties:
  • Collaborate with the production team to create captivating lighting arrangements for various studio and locational shoots.
  • Work with other designers, editors, producers, and clients to comprehend the project goals and expectations
  • Work with director to plan all aspects of shots
  • Give realistic, creative input and guidance to scene preparation
  • Excellent theoretical knowledge of filming lighting techniques
  • Design lighting plans based on artistic vision and technical expertise
  • Communicate with directors and other designers to determine color schemes and moods.
  • Knowledge of lighting equipment, problem-solving, teamwork.
  • Handle cameras, lighting and audio equipment for field and studio productions
  • Make sure that the multimedia content follows the quality standards and guidelines of the company and the clients
  • Support the Client with multimedia production, including setting up, maintaining and fixing the lighting equipment
  • Work with make-up artists, lighting, and sound staff to create the best final effect
  • Solve technical or practical problems
  • Stay informed on modern technology and current industry trends to ensure you use the most updated methods to do the job
  • Edit footage as needed

Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience in lighting design or a related role
  • Skillful in using various lighting system, such as ETC
  • Creative and artistic skills, with a good sense of aesthetics and details
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team and with clients
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong technical skills for troubleshooting equipment issues
  • A strong attention to detail
  • Flexible schedule to work nights and weekends if required
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
Education:
  • An associate degree in film, media, or equivalent field experience
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in film is preferred
