Role

Resilience is ushering in an era of "Biomanufacturing-as-a-Service" that we expect will displace in-house manufacturing as well as traditional contract manufacturing and development organizations (CDMOs). We see this as a paradigm shift in biomanufacturing akin to the IT industry's adoption of Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) that rendered obsolete corporate-owned/operated data centers or corporate servers co-located in hosting facilities.

The Leader of Network Operations will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, operation and maintenance of both cloud-based and on-premises networking infrastructure solutions. This role will require a strong background in pharmaceutical manufacturing and a deep understanding of both cloud network technologies and traditional on-premise topologies. This role will require strong strategic vision and execution, while also capable of being hands-on when necessary to help your team succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to advance and support the company's network infrastructure, including support models, standards and technology ultimately aligning with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Build and lead a team of network engineers and technicians responsible for the design, deployment, and 24/7 secure operation of network systems, including LAN, WAN, VPN, WiFi, and cloud-based network solutions.
  • Manage network operations budget (resources, vendors, service providers and technology) in line with Digital business objectives with a focus on reliability, scalability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure the security and compliance of the network infrastructure, including implementing appropriate controls, monitoring systems, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Cloud, Manufacturing, Operations, and Information Security, to support business initiatives and align on strategic and department goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends in network operations, recommending innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers, managing contracts, negotiations, and service level agreements.
  • Assure the development and maintenance of network documentation, standards, and procedures to ensure consistency and accountability across the organization.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the network operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, accountability and professional development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in implementation and management of multi-site networking operations (LAN, WAN, VPN, WiFi, Cloud technologies)
  • Expertise in multi-vendor on-premises networking technologies, including switching, routing, firewalls, and wireless infrastructures.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, budget management, and vendor negotiations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with a demonstrated ability to build, inspire and lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of making data-driven decisions and driving results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; and 10+ years of Information Technology experience.
  • 10+ years of management and team leading experience with a focus in network operations, network architecture and project delivery and execution.
  • Director level experience in network operations in a global multi-site manufacturing organization with responsibility of directly overseeing teams, projects and programs.
  • Relevant hands-on management experience in a multi vendor networking/cloud environment (Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Ruckus, AWS services, etc)
  • Experience working in pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing industry (GxP knowledge and experience preferred).
  • Experience leading transformation initiatives, such as network support model development and hybrid network operations (Cloud and On premise).
  • Solid understanding of Information and Operations technology (IT/OT) and the application of industry standard segmentation and network management strategies.
