Rend Lake College seeks a full-time Dean of Arts & Sciences. This individual will: prepare and monitor budgets relative to the division; schedule classes, instructors, and facilities; be responsible for the division inventory of materials and equipment acquisition and maintenance; recruit, hire and evaluate division faculty, staff, and part-time instructional staff; respond to student and faculty grievances within the respective division; initiate and conduct division meetings; evaluate existing curricula and develop new programs; perform program reviews as scheduled; develop and maintain contact with area educational institutions, businesses, and other relevant organizations; develop division strategic plan; oversee the implementation of all grants assigned to the division; maintain confidentiality; participate in management meetings; implement policies and procedures required by regulatory or accrediting boards; coordinate and monitor interaction with appropriate program advisory committees; serve as a liaison within the various areas of the division, with other departments and with the administration; assist faculty in developing outcome assessment measures; maintain assessment documentation for division; coordinate advisement and registration of students in consultation with Student Services; coordinate recruitment and retention activities; oversee revisions / updates of lab manuals / textbooks; prepare and present necessary reports; serve on campus committees as required; and other duties as assigned. // Full-time (48-week) nontenure-track position.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required; Master’s Degree preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills required.
- Community college experience preferred.
- Previous administrative experience preferred.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects on a regular basis.
- All candidates will be required to successfully pass a background screening process.
SALARY & BENEFITS
- Starting at $80,000 commensurate with education & experience.
