Position Focus:
Reporting to the Director of Faculty Affairs and Staff Administration, the Psychology Section Administrator works with a high degree of autonomy and with oversight from the Chief of the Psychology Section and the Director of Training for the Yale Doctoral Internship in Clinical and Community Psychology to provide overall management in the planning, implementation and support of education and training, patient care, research and faculty development and communication activities of the Psychology Section in the Department of Psychiatry.
Responsibilities include:
Serve as the critical lead role in managing the interface with relevant accrediting bodies for continuing education and training including the American Psychological Association (APA) Commission on Accreditation and Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC), including ensuring compliance with standards.
Manage all aspects of the Psychology Section activities by supporting and managing education, training, clinical care, communication and faculty development and the interface with Psychiatry offices.
Manage and support the Psychology Section Leadership Committee meetings, the Section’s Training Executive Committee and manage Section activities based on the Psychiatry Department’s Executive Committee directives.
Manage data analytics for annual processes related to accreditation regarding education and training activities (for faculty and doctoral internship trainees) within the Psychology Section.
Serve as the primary point of contact to psychology fellows and affiliated training faculty; direct all educational and training activities pertaining to the Yale Psychology Doctoral Internship Program.
Develop and manage budgets for training, education and faculty development activities and provides oversight and support of financial transactions for the Section activities.
In collaboration with the Director of Training for the Doctoral Internship in Clinical and Community Psychology and training faculty, take a lead role in the trainee recruitment process at all levels.
Manage all elements of trainee trimester evaluation, including interface with graduate school points of contact; design and execute operations related to annual fellow’s graduation.
Support all Section strategic and growth initiatives for Section leadership, that includes providing comparative analysis on competitor/equivalent training and education programs and provides recommendations to inform strategic growth opportunities.
Identify innovative strategies to increase presence of training program and faculty continuing education (i.e., social media, visual media development, communication materials) and coordinates execution of related initiatives.
Essential Duties
1. Assumes primary responsibility for a program, service, activity, operation or function in an assigned area. Develops objectives, practice and procedure and identifies resources to ensure accomplishment of operational goals. 2. Coordinates day-to-day operations in order to achieve designated goals. Ensures effective management and leads the development and implementation of best practices. 3. Designs and implements quality control metrics to identify areas of risk. Analyzes, recommends, and implements strategic solutions to minimize risk. 4. Develops a variety of complex report and other written materials. 5. Provides guidance to and collaboration with internal and external partners as necessary. 6. Develops, oversees and monitors budgets. 7. Develops and maintains specialized training. 8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Master’s degree in Psychology, Education, Business Administration, Public Health, or related field.
