DESCRIPTION

The manager of Pulmonary Vascular Medicine reports jointly to the manager of cardiovascular operations and the Medical Directors for PVM and Cardiothoracic Surgery. The incumbent is responsible for the oversight and management of all program aspects which includes management of: program staff, patient flow process, program development, community outreach, new patient coordination, patient revenue management, budget reviews, etc. The individual works closely with the nursing leadership team in supporting and leading the clinical staff for the program. The manager also will partner with Marketing and Business Development to improve/facilitate intake process and works with Patient Access, Revenue Cycle, and Health Sciences Contracting to ensure that all patient financial matters are handled properly and timely.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • (9) Nine years of related experience, education/training OR a Master's degree in related area plus (4) four years of related experience OR a Master's Degree (MBA/MHA/MPH/MHSA/MSW/MSN) + completion of administrative fellowship. Two (2+) years of healthcare operations experience is highly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources issues and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions.

  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with internal and external peers and managers. Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to train and mentor subordinates, convey complex administrative, clinical, and technical information in a clear and concise manner, and prepare and present various reports, documentation, analyses, and project proposals.

  • Strong knowledge of business software and specialized applications and data management systems used in clinic / center operations. Working knowledge of electronic medical records systems.

  • Working knowledge of electronic medical records systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Three or (3+) more years of supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of practice operations, patient-scheduling systems, medical and insurance terminology, applicable information systems, patient service standards, and regulatory requirement and best practices.
  • Budgeting and history of successful financial management/rev cycle management.
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Human resource experience i.e.: recruitment and labor relations.
  • Policy and Protocol creation and management.
  • Lean management experience
  • Experience working in a physician dyad (IE a Clinic medical director).
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • This salaried position supports a 7 day a week operation.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $85,400 - $156,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $40.90 - $75.10

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
