Senior Director of Diversity & Inclusion

Job Description:

The Senior Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) is responsible for leading and shaping the company's diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies and initiatives. This role is vital for building a culture that fosters diversity in all its forms and ensures an equitable and inclusive environment where all employees can thrive. The Senior Director will work closely with executive leadership and department heads to implement and sustain DE&I programs that align with the organization's goals, values, and long-term vision.

Some things you can expect to do:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Enhance and continue to support execution of the company's DE&I strategy, integrating it with overall business goals and objectives.

  • Serve as a thought leader and trusted advisor on DE&I matters, providing expertise and direction to senior leadership.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the DE&I strategy is embedded in all aspects of the business, including recruitment, retention, employee development, and culture.

  • Use data analytics to assess the effectiveness of the DE&I initiatives and drive continuous improvement.

Program Development & Implementation:

  • Lead the development and implementation of innovative programs, training and initiatives that promote a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture.

  • Support existing and new employee resource groups (ERGs) and affinity networks, supporting their development and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Develop and oversee training programs focused on unconscious bias, cultural competence, inclusive leadership, and other relevant topics.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies to attract, retain, and develop diverse talent, working in close collaboration with Talent Acquisition and Human Resource Business Partners.

Change Management & Communication:

  • Partner with leaders across the organization to drive cultural enhancement, ensuring DE&I principles are consistently integrated into the company's processes, policies, and practices.

  • Develop and manage internal and external communications related to DE&I initiatives, fostering an environment of trust and accountability.

  • Act as a spokesperson for the organization on DE&I topics, both internally and externally, representing the company at industry events, conferences, and forums.

Metrics & Reporting:

  • Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the success of DE&I initiatives, regularly reporting progress to the various stakeholders, including the executive team and Board of Directors.

  • Utilize data-driven insights to adjust strategies and ensure alignment with best practices and evolving trends in DE&I.

  • Oversee the preparation of reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate the impact of DE&I programs to both internal and external audiences.

Partnership & Collaboration:

  • Build strong partnerships with external organizations, networks, and influencers to advance the company's diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with equal employment opportunity laws, anti-discrimination regulations, and other relevant policies.

  • Partner with procurement and supply chain teams to promote supplier diversity and ensure inclusive practices in external partnerships.

To be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, sociology, psychology, or a related field is required.

  • You will really stand out with a master's degree or professional certification in diversity, equity and inclusion, HR, or organizational leadership.

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a diversity, equity and inclusion leadership role.

  • Proven track record of designing and executing successful diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in a corporate environment.

  • Experience working with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to drive organizational change.

  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local equal employment opportunity laws and regulations.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business objectives into DE&I initiatives.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to lead and influence change across all levels of an organization.

  • Proficient in data analysis, with the ability to assess trends, identify gaps, and recommend solutions.

Eligibility:

  • Positions require verification of employment eligibility to work in the U.S.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation:

The annual base pay is $145,600-$182,000. The base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or an incentive program.
