We are searching for a HR Generalist to support our team with a variety of Human Resources functions, including an emphasis on employee relations. If you have a solid knowledge of Human Resources business processes and functions, experience managing and resolving complex employee relations issues, including conducting internal investigations, and good organizational, analytical, and time-management skills, then we are looking for you to be a key contributor to our Human Resources team.

*This will be a hybrid position. Applicants should be within driving distance of one of our offices in Irving, TX, Arlington, VA, or San Diego, CA.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Significant HR Generalist experience, with an emphasis in employee relations.
- Proven experience handling complex workplace complaints and conflict resolution; experience providing guidance to managers on performance management, company policies, and procedures.
- Must have independent decision making and critical thinking skills; able to make good judgment calls and be a strong problem solver.
- HRIS system knowledge; Workday experience preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proven expertise managing multiple projects concurrently, with various teams and functional groups.
- Thorough understanding of dispute resolution techniques.
- Ability to analyze and develop solutions to complex problems related to employees, processes, systems and organizations.
- Experience responding to inquiries regarding confidential and sensitive information, which require tact and discretion in handling.
- Thorough understanding of Human Resources best practices, processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and workers' compensation regulations.
- Experience in leave management and workers compensation preferred.
- Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations related to employment practices.
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and adjust priorities, as needed.
- Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing, across various audiences.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- A demonstrated record of taking initiative, effectively resolving employee relations issues, and building relationships.
- Bilingual in Spanish, a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting and advising managers regarding employee relations issues; conducting thorough investigations; recommending termination when warranted.
- Providing advice and assistance to managers and associates in matters relating to conduct, performance, attendance, and conflict resolution. Reviewing and approving corrective and disciplinary action requests.
- Consulting with and helping to educate all associates on company policies and procedures, assisting with related inquiries.
- Reviewing and advising on various HR related actions such as transfer and promotion requests, background checks, etc.
- Administering and managing leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, and personal leaves.
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, and other applicable leave legislation.
- Managing workers' compensation claims from the point of injury reporting through case closure, ensuring timely, efficient, and compassionate handling of each claim.
- Working closely with associates, healthcare providers, and insurers to manage claims and facilitate a smooth return-to-work process.
- Monitoring open cases to assess injury status, return-to-work options, and accommodations, to ensure compliance with ADA and other regulatory requirements.
- Conducting exit interviews as well as review and analysis of new hire surveys and exit interviews. Reporting data regularly to include trends and strategic recommendations.
- Reviewing and responding to online reputational management surveys via Glassdoor and Indeed.
- Conducting periodic HR related audits.
- Managing Fairfield's associate recognition and tenure programs.
- Analyzing job descriptions for appropriate grading and FLSA classification, internal equity and market analysis.
- Maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Estimated Rate of Pay:
$75,000.00 - $90,000.00
This position is exempt; the range above reflects annual salary.

The pay range displayed for this position is determined by skills and experience required, location and job complexity*. Potential job offers may vary based on the skills, education, and experience an individual candidate holds. This range reflects base rate only, and does not include allowances, perks, commissions or bonuses applicable to this position (if any).
