Purpose of the Position:
The Postdoctoral Research Assistant III will carry out fundamental research on solar coronal magnetic field topology and related processes supported by federal grants.
Duties / Responsibilities
Duties / Responsibilities
- Perform numerical simulations of solar magnetic field configurations by employing both computer codes/software and spacecraft observations.
- Perform data analysis of the corresponding multi-wavelength remote-sensing observations to assist in the validation and interpretation of the numerical simulation results.
- Communicate research findings with the broad scientific community through conference and workshop participation and journal publications. The incumbent is expected to publish 1-2 papers per year in both the leading role and as a co-author.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ph.D. with 2 - 2.5 years of full-time verifiable work experience, research experience within a degree discipline, including dissertation research experience is preferred (Bachelor's or Master's degree required).
- Quantitative analysis and coding skills.
- Strong communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Physical Science including physics, astrophysics, plasma physics, etc.
