Job Summary

The Scholarship Services team encourages applications for a temporary Support Specialist! This role will support the team in ensuring compliance with scholarship administration policies and procedures. This position will focus on short term projects to aid in the effective management of scholarship programs. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in higher education administration and scholarship coordination. The role will primarily involve assisting with crucial tasks to ensure smooth program operation.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Assist with the maintenance of scholarship records, reports, and documentation.
  • Support scholarship policy audits by participating in audit activities and documenting procedures.
  • Record Customer service request in a ticketing system or similar software for tracking purposes.
  • Provide support to users experiencing issues within the scholarship award management system.
  • Aid in the development and maintenance of tracking systems for scholarship administration.
  • Provide administrative support for scholarship awarding processes and resolve basic issues.
  • Assist in implementing new processes and policies to improve scholarship operations.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure effective communication and create help guides.
  • Assist with other duties as needed to support Scholarship Services.

What You Should Know

  • This is a temporary, part-time position anticipated to last 4 months. This role has the opportunity to work in a hybrid work situation.
  • This position requires the ability to pass a criminal and financial background check.

What We Can Offer

  • The pay range is $23.00 - $28.00 per hour.

Benefits

Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave.

What We Require

  • Basic proficiency in in using Microsoft 365 products including Excel, Teams, Outlook, Word, and Teams or similar.
  • Work experience in a higher education office setting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 months experience with related work.

What You Will Need

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Diligent with good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Dedication to customer service and outreach.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • Basic understanding of scholarship administration or financial aid processes.
  • Previous experience in scholarship program administration, financial aid, or student financial services.
  • Understanding of university student information systems (BAM, Campus Solutions, or similar system).
