This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both at UCSD affiliated locations in San Diego and El Centro, California.

DESCRIPTION

The Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science is dedicated to creating and promoting public health innovations to advance equity, justice, and wellbeing for all and focuses on health, diversity, inclusion, and social equity in everything we do. In working to fulfill that vision we are comprised of more than 110 primary faculty and academics, 25 secondary faculty, and 200 staff members and provide mentorship and instruction to 225+ postgraduate and 650+ undergraduate students. We conduct research and instruction in public health disciplines such as behavioral medicine, biostatistics and bioinformatics, epidemiology, global health, health policy, health equity, public mental health, environmental and climate health, and preventive medicine, totaling ~$125M in grants and contracts, 6 degree programs, and housing five recharge cores providing services to UC San Diego and external customers. We engage in research and teaching collaborations with many partners across the Health Sciences and UCSD, and partnerships with the community and health agencies are fundamental to the School.

Supervises administrative staff performing routine and / or largely operational duties using established guidelines, procedures, and policies. Supervises day-to-day operations. Ensures quality control and compliance with established standards and procedures for assigned programs. Assigns, monitors and reviews progress and accuracy of work of staff. This role will supervise, support, educate, and work with our Clinical Assistants who provide medical screenings for asylum seekers in collaboration with the community and department. Duties include but are not limited to; overseeing and supervising the activities of CA's, including making rounds with clinical providers, assisting with patient management and patient data collection, medical scribing, and medication inventory. The Asylum Seekers Clinic CA Supervisor will work with the Sites Leads, Supervisor and Business Officer to interview, train, schedule, and evaluate staff. The Asylum Seekers Clinic CA Supervisor is a key member of the clinical operations team at the Asylum Seekers Clinic Shelters, providing daily continuity of care to our patients and facilitating essential communications to over 35 different licensed providers & healthcare students and 20 Clinical Assistants.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three (3) years of related experience/training.

  • Ability to maintain effective professional relationships with clients and patients.

  • Effective leadership skills, including directing and developing staff members.

  • Working knowledge of asylum seeker protocol, care, and existing specialized clinical protocols.

  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of community education, technical education, and / or training and development programs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Advanced medical degree.

  • Advanced medical training and/or working clinical knowledge.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $58,600 - $100,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $28.07 - $48.28

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
