Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Office of Research Administration (ORA) supports the research community of University of Maryland, College Park. The electronic Research Administration unit in ORA is seeking an energetic Graduate Assistant to join our staff.

The Graduate Assistant will be responsible for development and maintenance of the Division of Research (VPR) and the Office of Research Administration (ORA) websites, maintaining and developing Google Drive, Sites, Forms, and AppScript content, and providing limited IT support.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidate must be:
  • Enrolled as a full-time graduate student at the University of Maryland, College Park.
  • Available to work approximately 10 hours per week, during the Fall semester 2024, and 20 hours per week, starting Spring semester 2025, during regular business hours 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Must be detail oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with the diverse constituency of the campus community, including staff, administrators, and faculty. Experience with website development/lifecycle and CMS tools like Drupal. Ability to write or edit HTML, CSS, PHP, XML stylesheets to maintain web-based applications. Experience with general office software including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.

Preferences:

Admitted graduate student available to begin in October 2024. Previous experience working in a business, financial, management or IT setting is also preferred

Additional Information:

This is a part-time graduate assistantship of 10 hours per week for the remainder of the Fall 2024 semester. The successful candidate will transition to a full-time graduate assistantship working 20 hours a week in the Spring 2025 semester.
