Assistant Professor of Accounting
Job Description
High Point University is currently seeking an Assistant Professor of Accounting.
Education:
- Candidates must possess a Ph.D. (preferred) in accounting/other related quantitative field with at least 18 hours of graduate accounting courses or a master’s degree in accounting.
Experience and Training:
- Certified Public Accountant license (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the university level at either the full-time or adjunct level.
- Preferably at least five years of relevant professional experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and computer skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Must be able to leverage learning technologies such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Classroom, Blackboard, WebEx, Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to work with and teach the following courses: Intermediate Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Cost Accounting, Auditing, and/or Mergers & Acquisitions.
- Provide mentorship and advising for students as appointed by Dean’s Office and Department Chair.
- Provide service at the University at all levels, including serving on committees at the school and university level.
- Abide by University and School of Business policies.
- Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chair.
