Job Description

The School of Business Administration at Clark Atlanta University invites applications for a tenuretrack faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, starting fall 2023. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in the field of accounting (or allied disciplines) as well as a

Duties and Responsibilites

  1. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Accounting,Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Accounting,
  2. Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in Accounting and the BusinessSchool in general.
  3. Conduct research leading to publications in reputable and refereed academic and professionaljournals in Accounting and related fields.
  4. Provide service to the department, school, university and the profession.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

While we welcome applications from candidates in all areas of accounting, the ideal candidate will have a background in IT Auditing/Auditing, data analytics/information systems, and Managerial Accounting. The successful candidate will be expected to be familiar with emerging technologies in accounting. Relevant professional experience and certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, CIA) will be favorably considered. Candidates should have a demonstrated record or potential for publishing in top-tier academic accounting journals, a strong commitment to excellence in teaching (evidenced by
positive teaching evaluations, teaching awards, etc.), a commitment to serve as undergraduate/graduate mentors in the Accounting academic area, and disposition to contribute to student growth and development through active involvement in student related activities (e.g.,
advising, working with student organizations).

The candidate’s credentials must support appointment at the faculty level that he or she is applying for, with a strong record of accomplishment in scholarship as well as outstanding teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, consistent with the level of appointment

 

Minimum Hiring Standards:

Education
Earned Ph. D. in Accounting from an AACSB accredited
school or equivalent. Applicants that are ABD will be
considered for this position.

None for Assistant Professor. Otherwise depends on position.
