Science Faculty
Job Description
Labette Community College invites applications for one (1) full-time faculty position to teach biology and chemistry for our science department to begin in the January 2025 semester. This position is based at the main campus located in Parsons, Kansas.
The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of the disciplines required to teach post-secondary students in a four (4)-day instructional class schedule. The faculty member will provide classroom instruction, advise students on class scheduling and academic progress, participate in curriculum revision, and complete program assessment.
Responsibilities also include serving on LCC committees, maintaining office hours, and fulfilling other duties required or agreed upon in the LCC Master Agreement and LCC Policy and Procedures Manual.
Required qualifications include a Master’s degree in the disciplines or Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the disciplines; the ability to work effectively with faculty, students, and college staff; the ability to set priorities and use appropriate interpersonal skills; knowledge of instructional software and education media; an understanding of student learning and curriculum development; and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The salary range is based on education and experience as governed by the Master Agreement, which can be found at www.labette.edu/hr in the Policy and Procedures manual.
