Candidates must have a terminal degree in public administration, public policy, political science, or a related field.
Experience:
- Candidates must have higher-education teaching experience in a relevant field.
- Candidates must have 5+ years of relevant professional experience in governments, non-profits, international organizations, and related institutions.
Preferences:
- Candidates with 15+ years of relevant professional experience in governments, non-profits, international organizations, and related institutions are preferred. Lengthier tenure and higher rank of relevant professional experience will be valued.
- Candidates are expected to have a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentorship at either the undergraduate or graduate levels, including working with students and groups from minoritized groups. Experience teaching and mentoring in executive programs is a plus.
- Candidates with a demonstrated ability to use (a) active learning and/or (b) equity-centered pedagogies and techniques in teaching and mentoring are preferred.
Additional Information:
Masters of Public Management degree (primarily for mid-career students). The PhD program was recently rated amongst the top ten nationally by the National Research Council. The School inaugurated an undergraduate major in public policy in the fall of 2017, and hosts several undergraduate minors and living/learning programs. It also offers a number of executive (degree and non-degree) programs for career executives in federal, state, and international agencies. The School currently houses research centers covering areas of international security, sustainability, nonprofit management, public policy and private enterprise and School faculty contribute to research, education, and impact across all public policy disciplines, including multiple collaborations with departments and units across campus.
