Salary Range: Competitive
Location: Remote; live anywhere in the U.S.
Travel: 75% – 100%
General Description: Consultants (Functional and/or Technical) are responsible for delivering services to colleges and universities throughout the country. Consultants are expected to work with institutional staff to conduct operational reviews, prepare assessment reports, and create improvement plans using a quality assurance approach for overall improvements in the financial aid operations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with clients to identify and address, through improvement plans, financial aid compliance and operational (i.e., workflow) issues. This may include serving as an acting director of financial aid, middle management duties, and/or performing standard day-to-day financial aid processing tasks.
- Research complex regulatory issues and provide concise analysis and recommendations.
- Conduct operational reviews and prepare comprehensive reports of findings.
- Lead training sessions on financial aid issues individually or in groups.
- Create project plans.
- Manage software implementation or configuration.
- Create documentation of completed work.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree;
- Five to seven years of progressive financial aid experience;
- Ability to organize and deliver training;
- Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulatory requirements;
- Experience with automation and major financial aid information systems;
- Experience in financial aid operations, system improvements and the ability to prepare corrective action plans;
- Demonstrated strong writing and verbal communication skills;
- Skilled user of Microsoft Office products; and
- Three or more years of experience with Banner, CampusVue, Datatel, PeopleSoft, PowerFAIDS and/or other major student information systems preferred.
