Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Compliance, the Senior Assistant Director assists in
the administration, compliance and processing of financial aid programs. This
position will evaluate, analyze and process detailed confidential reports to
determine student eligibility for financial assistance using both federal and
institutional methodology.
The Senior Assistant Director provides leadership, administrative effectiveness
and financial aid services through an emphasis on individual attention to students
and high-quality customer service.
Essential Functions
∙ Collaborates closely with other members of the Student Financial Services
management team, as well as the Enrollment Group managers, in support
of the University’s mission and enrollment goals.
∙ Is responsible for origination, disbursement and reconciliation for the
Direct Loan and Pell Grant programs.
∙ Manages processes including, but not limited to, Mid-Year Transfer
Monitoring. TAP Posting, R2T4, and FAFSA /CSS imports.
∙ Assists with adjustment of financial aid for compliance issues.
∙ Assists in all aspects of financial aid administration, including but not
limited to, counseling of students and parents, needs analysis, processing
of applications, and packaging.
∙ Interacts with other University offices.
∙ Reads, interprets, communicates, and supports compliance with the most
recent regulatory releases and/or procedures for assigned programs.

∙ Conducts financial aid, and financing presentations.
∙ Participates in professional development workshops.
∙ May be required to work at other Fordham campuses. Some evening and
weekend work required.
∙ Assumes other tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
∙ Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts or Business.
∙ Proven administrative and management skills and experience.

∙ Knowledge of Federal and New York State Financial Aid Programs.
∙ Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
∙ Knowledge of Federal and New York State Financial Aid Programs.
∙ Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the
goals of Jesuit Education.
Preferred Qualifications
∙ Minimum three years of diverse experience in financial aid.
∙ Knowledge of Powerfaids and Banner Systems.
Minimum Starting Salary: $66,000
Maximum Starting Salary: $71,000
Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
