Position Summary

Performs independent work related to the maintenance and repair of campus interior/exterior structures and furnishings.

 

Essential Functions         

  • Repairs, installs, and maintains flooring, roofs, ceilings, doors, stairs, windows, signs, and other building and campus structures/components.
  • Makes masonry repairs, including brick/stone, concrete, tiles (ceramic, vinyl, other), asphalt, etc.
  • Services and installs bathroom walls/partitions, showers, enclosures, and other interior components.
  • Repairs and assembles wood furniture, furnishings, railings, doors, etc.
  • Responds to service calls; troubleshoot problems and service issues.
  • Assists carpenters and other trades as required.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory and the upkeep of the shop.
  • Performs other work typical of craft and other duties as assigned by management.
  • Is on-call for emergency and event-related duties.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience         

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Minimum of 7 years in construction/carpentry trade.

 

Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills       

  • Ability to follow written instructions (work orders) and read furniture and equipment assembly schematics.
  • Must know how to use and operate power tools, gauges, computers, ladders, and other tools and equipment typical to this position.
  • Must know how to use and operate power tools and shop equipment typical to this position.
  • Valid Driver’s License

HOURS:

Monday to Friday

7:00 am to 3:30 pm

 

Minimum Biweekly Salary for Internal Applicants with 3 or more years of service: $3,488.00

 

Maximum Biweekly Salary for Internal Applicants with 3 or more years of service: $3,488.00

 

Minimum Biweekly Salary for New Employees: $2,790.40

 

Maximum Biweekly Salary for New Employees: $2,790.40
