Director, MIT ASEAN Office (MSAO)
Job Description
DIRECTOR, MIT ASEAN OFFICE (MSAO), Sloan School of Management-Office of Global Programs, to establish an annual agenda for research, speaking, teaching, and networking opportunities for the Institute’s faculty for the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region. The coordination will involve bringing together business, government, and thought leaders with leaders from the Institute. Will seek out sponsors to fund the execution of conferences for the region; and seek out and maintain new engagements with schools, governments, embassies, entrepreneurial incubators/accelerators, and corporations with the goal of addressing global business and innovation challenges, enhancing the Institute’s visibility, and advancing its educational mission. Responsibilities include overseeing and managing MSAO Advisory Council members, which is made up of MIT alumni and donors to the MSAO; positioning the MSAO strategically by identifying new partnerships, programs, and opportunities for MIT in the region; supplementing the operating budget of the office through new revenue streams; further integrating other departments, centers, labs, and global initiatives within MIT to enhance the Institute’s brand, talent exposure, admissions, and recruitment pools within the ASEAN region; continually evaluating the budget and making recommendations when substantial opportunities and fiscal variables arise; and expanding regional awareness of flagship programs, the MBA, Sloan Fellows, non-degree Executive Education programs, new programs, the Master of Finance (MFIN), Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA), and the Master of Business Analytics.

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least five years of administration, operations, and/or project/program management experience; international experience and accomplishments; and experience managing high-level, large engagement, global client relationships. PREFERRED: MBA, experience in academic administration of degree and/or executive programs in higher education, and cross-cultural experience that included living in another country. Job #23582-10
Salary range: $94.090- $$125,805- $157,520, based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity. Generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
The position is located in Bangkok, Thailand.
Employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check.
