Postdoctoral Associate, Spintronics
Job Description
POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, SPINTRONICS, Program in Media Arts and Sciences-Nano-Cybernetic Biotrek, to join Professor Deblina Sarkar’s research group and bring experience in magnetic materials and spintronic devices. Will fabricate spin-orbit torque devices using cleanroom facilities; set-up and run experiments for current induced deterministic and probabilistic switching of ferromagnets; characterize SOT efficiencies for the material combinations; and write research grants.

REQUIRED: Ph.D. in material science, electrical/electronic engineering, physics, or another relevant field; background in magnetism, spin transport and spintronic devices; experience with fabrication and the characterization of spin-orbit torque switching devices; and demonstrated ability to design and build measurement setups independently. PREFERRED: experience with magneto-optical measurements and fabrication and characterization of spin-valves; experience with multiferroic, ferroelectric, and/or piezoelectric material systems; experience using magnetic cryostats; experience with DFT, Monte Carlo, and micromagnetic and/or spin transport simulations; experience with instrument automation using LabVIEW, MATLAB and/or Python; and a background in solid state physics and with electronic devices.
