Job Description

The Propulsion and Engineering Systems Subject Matter Expert Curriculum Instructor (PEAD SME CI) will deliver specialized training on Shipboard Hull, Mechanical, and Engineering (HM&E) systems, with specific emphasis on Gas Turbine Propulsion Systems, Damage Control Systems, and Electrical Subsystems. This role requires extensive experience in engineering operations, instructional leadership, and technical expertise to support training for Cruisers and Destroyers.

* Develop and conduct training programs focusing on Gas Turbine Propulsion Systems, Electrical Subsystems, and Damage Control Systems.
* Serve as an acknowledged expert in Engineering Watchstanding operations, providing high-quality instruction to personnel operating aboard Cruisers and Destroyers.
* Mentor and guide fellow instructors in delivering shipboard engineering training, ensuring excellence in instructional methods and content.
* Research, analyze, and interpret technical specification documents and tactical publications, translating complex engineering content into clear, actionable instruction.
* Operate and manipulate training systems to ensure effective and accurate presentation of learning objectives.
* Continuously update and improve course materials based on evolving requirements and feedback.

Job Requirements

* Twelve (12) years of relevant experience equivalent to a Senior Enlisted Engineer or Main Propulsion Assistant. Experience must include general Shipboard HM&E systems, Damage Control Systems, and specific expertise in Gas Turbine Propulsion Systems, including Electrical Subsystems.
* Recognized expertise in Engineering Watchstanding processes specific to Cruisers and Destroyers, with four (4) years of experience as an instructor of shipboard engineering processes, including mentoring and developing other instructors.
* Three (3) years of experience in roles requiring research, analysis, and application of technical specification documents or tactical publications, with the ability to translate complex technical content into instructional materials.
* Three (3) years of experience operating and manipulating training systems to ensure accurate and engaging presentation of training objectives.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs)
*Deep technical knowledge of Gas Turbine Propulsion Systems, Electrical Subsystems, and Damage Control Systems. *Proven leadership in Engineering Watchstanding operations for Cruisers and Destroyers. *Strong instructional and mentorship capabilities, with a focus on guiding the development of other instructors. *Ability to research, interpret, and deliver complex technical information in an instructional setting. *Proficiency in utilizing and manipulating advanced training systems to deliver effective learning experiences. *Excellent communication and presentation skills with a focus on clarity and instructional effectiveness.
