DESCRIPTION

The Clinical Communication Analyst will provide hardware and software support for the Ancillary Applications portfolio of products. This includes Apple devices (iPhones, iPads, and Apple TVs), self-arrival Kiosks, and any new products managed by the team. The incumbent will need to have technical acumen to help support software, with a focus on troubleshooting, patching, and updating.

This position will also focus on excellent customer support for our end-users. This will include coaching for both providers, clinical staff, and our patients on how to use products and devices. The incumbent will support our iPhone/iPad programs and other Apple initiatives. The incumbent will establish and maintain a collaborative relationship between clinicians, nursing leadership, EMR, and IS infrastructure teams, vendors, and Integration Teams.

The Clinical Communication Analyst will also work closely with other Epic Team and IS Teams, on product support, optimization, and enhancements. Develops training and knowledgebase materials to facilitate user adoption of new technologies. The Ancillary Application Analyst will be responsible for device refreshes, inventory management, and hardware support and will participate in projects to support application implementation, administration and maintenance.

This is an Information Services position part of a team providing 7/24 problem management support.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three years of related experience/training.

  • Experience and proven success in information systems implementation, development and support within a large-scale healthcare organization.

  • Incumbent must obtain certification in primary EMR module(s) within 4 months of initial hire.

  • Incumbent must maintain current certification for primary EMR module(s) as a condition of employment.

  • Strong problem-resolution skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose problems, and develop, test, and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively, train, support, and work collaboratively with users of clinical information systems at all professional and technical levels.

  • Detail oriented, with proven organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and see projects through to completion on deadline.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to convey technical information and instructions to all levels of clinical applications users in a specific, clear, and concise manner.

  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge in documentation and reporting, with the ability to design and execute tests, analyze system performance data, and produce substantive reports and analyses.

  • Ability to work with senior staff and managers, serving as a technical resource and providing advice and counsel on issues of functionality, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, policy, and performance.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide expert consultative guidance and direction on change initiatives affecting clinical care processes.

  • Demonstrated ability in workflow and data analysis and design techniques, including needs assessment, specification development, quantitative methods, planning and gap analysis.

  • Ability to effectively utilize system tools to meet functionality needs of users.

  • Ability to plan and organize day-to-day activities along with short and long-term projects; in-depth knowledge of organizational and project planning processes and ability to produce and maintain high quality planning documents.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience as a major participant in a clinical system implementation.

  • Jamf and Apple Certifications

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

  • This position will require onsite support, candidates must live in the San Diego, CA area.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $94,400 - $176,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $45.21 - $84.67

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
