Ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to drive the direction of technology across the Scripps system.
- Develop and maintain the vision, strategy, roadmap and programs to modernize and advance technology infrastructure, including current and future technology needs.
- Develop and maintain the annual operating and capital budgets for technology systems, biomedical engineering, and staffing for cost-effective, efficient operations.
- Apply a business value assessment methodology to existing and future technology investments to maximize value.
- Day-to-day operational responsibility for networking, telecommunications, mobility, storage, compute, interfaces, data centers, cloud computing, Biomedical Engineering, and end-user device support.
- Implement best practice IT management methodologies focused on capacity planning, system availability, system performance, patching and release management, and data center operations leveraging industry-standard frameworks (ITIL, other).
- Provide strategic risk guidance for IT projects, including the evaluation and recommendation of technical controls based on trust boundaries and security frameworks.
- Develop and maintain relationships with IT suppliers and vendors and maintain knowledge of current technology and equipment and associated trends.
- Operationalize business impact analyses and disaster recovery plans to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Oversee technology and medical equipment lifecycle management.
- Ensure appropriate oversight of the technical environment leveraging management and monitoring tools to report the health of the infrastructure.
- Collaborate with Information Security to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data and implement the information security roadmap.
- Leverage IS Project Management Office frameworks to ensure technology and medical equipment projects are delivered based on scope, schedule, and budget.
- Ensure technology needs are assessed and implemented based on the growth needs of the organization.
- Be a thought leader in developing plans to move the organization from a traditional thick footprint environment to a more agile, cloud-based environment.
- Leverage industry standards to migrate networking, storage, compute and other technologies to intelligent platforms. Examples include software-defined networking.
- Lead the development and maintenance of technology standards for the organization including SOPs and other relevant practices.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
* Ten years of leadership experience, at least five of which in information services.
* Outstanding strategic-planning and problem-solving capabilities.
* Proven track record as effective leader in a high-performance organization.
* Skill and experience in improving efficiency while planning for the needs of a dynamic, growth-oriented company.
* The ability to apply effective project management skills to lead functional or strategic initiatives. Must have highly effective interpersonal and communication skills in order to effectively represent the system.
* A personal presence which is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and values of Scripps Health.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
* Master's degree in healthcare, Business, or related field.
