Job Description
Position Summary
The Music Department is recruiting for MUAP private lesson instructors to teach low brass in the Fall 2024 semester.
Salary Based on Instructional Units (one instructional unit is equivalent to 16 contact hours per semester).
$642.67/per instructional unit in the Fall/Spring/Summer
$300.00/seminar courseDuties & Responsibilities
- Provide instruction to students in a meaningful classroom and/or laboratory learning environment
- Teach each student a 6- minute lesson once per week
- Be present for labs 8 times each semester - seminar classes, recitals, and juries
Qualifications
- A Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in music or a Bachelor's degree in Music or Music Education. Must have at least 14 undergraduate hours of private lessons in one of the following instruments: trombone, euphonium, and tuba AND 6 semesters playing experience in a college orchestra PLUS at least 2 years professional playing experience in an auditioned group. Unofficial transcripts are required for all graduate level work
- Local instructors preferred. However, will consider applicants who can teach via WebEx (real time remote).
- A demonstrated commitment to serving a diverse array of students, to the community college mission, and to academic excellence.
- College teaching experience preferred.
