Candidate will contribute to the overall goals of the current research projects in the LeBlanc lab. Specifically, we aim to uncover the detailed molecular mechanisms of several biological processes including ribosome assembly by studying the transient protein-protein and protein-nucleic acid interactions that drive the pathways forward at the single-molecule level. Candidate will express, purify, and fluorescently label enzymes of interest and study them using time-resolved fluorescence microscopy and spectroscopy. Candidate will also use computational modeling methods to further our understanding of the experimental data. Candidate will contribute to the development of an outreach initiative involving high school students and teachers.
