The Postdoctoral Research Scholar will conduct research in a sparse tensor network project with Faculty co-mentors Dr. Li and Dr. Mueller. A successful candidate will have a proven track record of research excellence in the area of high performance computing for Sparse Tensor networks; exhibit leadership, communication, and organization skills. Specific job responsibilities for the Postdoctoral Research Scholar position will be the following:
- Conduct research in areas of high performance computing for sparse tensor networks, such as parallel algorithms, runtime, and compiler
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate students conducting research
- Write and publish the results of that research in peer-reviewed venues
- Conduct funding related tasks (e.g., reporting)
- Coordination of and participation in project meetings
- Collaborate with professors at two other universities to integrate work together
- Lead and participate in public engagement and outreach activities
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PMDepartment Required Skills
- Highly motivated, organized individual
- Interpersonal skills needed to collaborate with the rest of the research team
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field awarded no more than five (5) years from initial date of postdoctoral appointment.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
- PhD degree in Computer Science, Computational Science, or Computational Mathematics
- Research record on High-Performance Computing
- Experience in numerical methods and knowledge of linear algebra are beneficial
