Title: Director of Public Sector Engagement Reports to: VP, Program Strategy
Status: Salaried, Exempt Location: Seattle, WA or Remote Home Office

Role Summary:
The Director of Public Sector Engagement will report to the VP of Programs Strategy and will be accountable for leading and implementing strategies and initiatives for public sector engagement within our global programs in support of our organizational mission to accelerate health equity globally. The Director of Public Sector Engagement, working with Region Heads across the globe, will be responsible for providing direction, contributing to strategic plans, and coordinating our broader multi-lateral and global health stakeholder initiatives. The Director of PSE will serve as a thought partner for the development of external collaborations among international NGO’s and Governments to accelerate our global health impact.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the providing direction and oversight of the strategy and implementation of multilateral relationships at the public sector and INGO levels in coordination with the CEO, Region Heads, and the VPs of Programs and in alignment with organizational strategy.
- Maintains the day-to-day relationships with key public sector and global health partners and provides direction and support to team members in the relationships with key strategic partners
- Identify and engage with key stakeholders in the public sector to promote collaboration and achieve shared objectives.
- Lead the negotiation and development of partnership agreements and contracts with global health stakeholders and INGOs.
- Monitor and evaluate partnership performance and impact.
- Stay updated on relevant policies, regulations, and trends in the public sector.
- Represent The Max Foundation at conferences, meetings, and other events to promote bi-lateral, multi-lateral and global partnerships.
- Performs complex and strategically critical assignments in their functional area
- Makes decisions that impact the organization at large, consults with executives on all high risk/ high impact decisions
- Works with key decision makers on issues that shape broad design matter and future process improvements
- Collaborates with team-members across the organization to deeply understand organizational operations and shares expertise to shape broad design matters and future program improvements
- Contributes to strategic changes with organization-wide impact, recognized internally as a leading expert in their field
- Assists the VP of Program Strategy in setting the strategy for new global initiatives for the organization’s programmatic work. Builds influential relationships with The Max Foundation partners and develops new strategic relationships to accelerate the work of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Master’s in Public Policy, Public Health, or other relevant certification required, PhD a plus
- 10+ years of professional experience in the international humanitarian programs or related field, preferably in the global health industry
- Excellent analytical skills and proven ability to make critical decisions
- Advanced partnerships and project management skills and ability to navigate politically sensitive and fast-paced environment with a solid track-record of following through on commitments
- Experience working in a global and multicultural capacity across time zones, government agencies, and among diverse team
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; written and verbal fluency in French, Spanish, or another language, a plus
- Willing and able to travel domestically or internationally.
