Pay/Hourly Wage: $35 per hour
Reports to: Executive Director

Shaping Her Earth (SHE) is a 501c3 social impact organization founded out of an urgent need to provide college, career, and life skills guidance and resources to one of the most vulnerable populations on earth, young black and brown girls from underserved communities. SHE mentors, empowers, and invests in young women of color through enrichment programs, internships, workshops, public service opportunities, and personal development retreats. SHE works to equip young women of color with the tools to claim space, uplift their communities, grow their talents and use their voices to affect positive change in their lives and the lives of others.

Shaping Her Earth’s core pillars outline the principles and priorities that guide our work: SHE Mentors, SHE Leads and SHE Connects. We implement our core pillars through a variety of strategic programs:
SHE’s Sister to Sister Mentorship Program, SHE’s Bridging the Gap Mentorship Program, SHE on Campus, and SHE’s Internship Programs. SHE programming provides women of color with the tools and resources they need to navigate creating and fulfilling personal and scholastic goals; develop their leadership skills, build their confidence, and foster a sense of community and belonging.

Shaping Her Earth (SHE) seeks a Grant Writer (Remote) who is passionate about securing funding to help our non-profit organization operate throughout the year, and excited to collaborate in submitting grant writing proposals regarding our programming that serves and speaks to the narrative of young women of color. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching grant opportunities, writing compelling grant proposals to acquire funding, and collaborating with our leadership team to ensure that we work towards attaining funding. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research and identify grant funding opportunities which meet specific organizational objectives
- Interpret and follow grant application guidelines, requirements, and deadlines meticulously; and submit timely and complete grant applications, ensuring adherence to specified guidelines
- Draft compelling and persuasive grant proposals, detailing the needs, objectives, budget, and anticipated outcomes of programming
- Collaborate with the Executive Director (ED) to gather necessary information for grant proposals and furnish prospective funders with supporting documents
- Maintain an organized database of all grant submissions, including dates, outcomes, and feedback
- Update grant information as needed with organizational goals and objectives to effectively align grant-seeking efforts
- Manage the reporting process for all awarded grants, ensuring compliance with grant terms and conditions

- Identify and report grant writing challenges and successes on an ongoing basis, and in collaboration with the Executive Director (ED), maintain, expand, and update grant writing goals and outcomes as needed
- Perform grant-related administrative tasks as needed

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Proven work experience and success as a Grant Writer or similar role. Writing sample required.
- Working knowledge of fundraising information sources and/or grant databases.
- Excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, and strong writing skills.
- Ability to prioritize and have great time management skills.
